Since its inception in 2012, family has been the heart of Apex Transit. With members of the Ivanov family utilizing their particular skills and experience serving in key roles, we’ve grown from a visionary start-up with one truck, into the premier, asset-based truckload and volume LTL freight carrier we are today, operating our own fleet of trucks and dry van trailers. It’s the values we have cultivated by building a family-operated trucking company from the ground up that fuel our passion to be the absolute best transportation service provider, bolstered by our commitment to building lasting relationships with our clients based on trust, integrity, and the sense of ownership we take over every aspect of the shipping process.

Meet the Ivanovs
Leading Apex in its mission to offer the pinnacle of logistics services is the husband and wife team of Stan and Marina Ivanov. Stan and Marina are a true team in every sense of the word, and their different but complementary leadership abilities combine to make Apex the unique transportation company that it is.
Stan Ivanov
As a Co-Founder of Apex Transit, Stan’s years of experience as a truck driver not only provided him with a firsthand perspective of the challenges faced by drivers and shippers, but also infused him with a vision of how a trucking company could do things differently to better serve the interests of both, including:
- Forging collaborative, consultative relationships with clients to find the specialized transport solutions which work best for them and their freight shipping needs.
- Identifying and taking the necessary steps to control for or eliminate the avoidable issues that cause late deliveries, thereby creating a stable, predictable shipment schedule clients can rely on.
- Attracting and retaining the best, most dedicated drivers by recognizing and respecting their needs for flexibility and good family time, incentivizing drivers for on-time performance, and removing common stressors by providing dedicated lanes and the newest, safest equipment.
Marina Ivanov
While supporting Apex from its outset, Marina formally joined the company a year in and has since risen to the position of Managing Director. She is also the majority owner, making Apex Transit a woman-owned business. Marina’s passion for the industry can be traced back to her being the daughter of a driver. From her father to her husband, truck drivers have played an immensely important role in her life, and it is no coincidence she has a big heart for the drivers of Apex.
Marina is not only an expert in her field, she is an engaged advocate for the trucking industry. From her position as a member of the board of directors of the North Carolina Trucking Association, Marina has been working to get legislation passed at the state level to promote a safe and sustainable trucking industry for all. In collaboration with the American Trucking Associations, Marina and the NCTA Legislative Committee have also taken part in the annual Call on Washington to advocate for truck drivers and the industry nationally. She additionally serves as Chairwoman of the Women in Trucking Council for 2024, with the goals of promoting, inspiring, educating, and advocating for women in the industry.

Safety
For Apex, safety is a vital concern. This means the safety of our drivers, those they share the road with, and your cargo. This begins at the top, where our Director of Safety has passed the rigorous standards of the NATMI certification process. Our commitment to safety is also why we use Volvo VNL trucks equipped with dynamic steering, which not only makes driving far easier on drivers, but also much safer, especially during the event of an emergency, such as a blowout. This severely lowers the risk of Apex being involved in a serious accident.
